Report on Ganapati Bappa Festival – “Vighnaharta 2025”

The Ashvin Rural Ayurved College celebrated the Ganapati Bappa Festival “Vighnaharta 2025” with great devotion and cultural enthusiasm from 27 August to 1 September 2025. Each day featured a special theme and vibrant participation by students, faculty, and staff.
27 August – Agaman (Arrival)
The festival commenced with the grand arrival of Lord Ganapati. College Director Blame Sir and the entire non-teaching staff joined the procession accompanied by lively Dhol and Tasha beats. Students dressed in elegant kurtas, creating a traditional and festive atmosphere.
28 August – Traditional Day
Principal Dr. Shyamal Nirmal, Vice-Principal Prof. Jitendra Shimpi, faculty members, and students celebrated cultural diversity by wearing attire from different Indian regions such as South Indian, Gujarati, and Punjabi styles. The day featured traditional dance, songs, drama, and a ramp walk, with enthusiastic participation from both students and teachers.
29 August – Bollywood Day
This day brought a glamorous Bollywood vibe. Teachers and students dressed as popular film stars and enjoyed ramp walks, dances, and singing performances. Dr. Ganesh Sir impressed everyone with his energetic dance, and fun games were organized for all.
30 August – Black & White Day
Participants arrived in coordinated black and white outfits. The programme included music and stage performances, highlighted by a soulful song rendered by Dr. Jyoti Khandare.
31 August – Satyanarayan Pooja
A serene Satyanarayan Pooja was conducted by Dr. Nishan Ingale and Dr Jayshree, with wholehearted participation from students and staff, adding a spiritual dimension to the festivities.
1 September – Visarjan
The final day began with a community meal, followed by a lively DJ session where everyone danced and celebrated. First- and final-year students presented an impressive flash mob. At 4 p.m., Blame Sir led the last aarti, after which the fourth-year students carried out the visarjan, immersing the idol with devotion and joy.
